The Steps to the Crystal Palace
The Steps to the Crystal Palace
Until I stood at the top of the steps I had no idea of the vast scale of the 1851 exhibition pavilion that moved here in 1854. My mother recalls how she could not go on a school trip to see the Crystal Palace, it was destroyed by fire a few months later. Crystal Palace TV transmitter has dominated the skyline here since 1956.
