Megaloceros giganteus, sometimes known as the Irish Elk, lived between 9500 and 400000 years ago in the Pleistocene era. In the 19C many skeletons were found in Irish peat bogs TL4558 : Megaloceros giganteus information. This skeleton is beautifully displayed in the Sedgwick Museum.
Sedgwick Museum

The Sedgwick Museum of Earth Sciences, is the geology museum of the University of Cambridge. It is part of the Department of Earth Sciences and is located on the University's Downing Site in Downing Street. The Sedgwick Museum is one of the eight museums which make up the University of Cambridge Museums. The museum is named after Adam Sedgwick the Victorian geologist.
