SX9456 : Royal Observer Corps at Berry Head

taken 6 years ago, near to Brixham, Torbay, Great Britain

Royal Observer Corps at Berry Head
Royal Observer Corps at Berry Head
In the foreground is the ROC cold war era observation bunker that would be used to record details of a nuclear strike while in the background is the 1943 ROC aircraft spotting tower. Berry Head shows activity over a wide timeframe and this juxtaposition of two different ROC functions is particularly informative.
