Porthmadog - the big beast appears
The lead locomotive of double headed Garratt articulated locomotives on the Welsh Highland Railway. This is the tramway section that crosses the main road and takes the train into the station. This is only one of the engineering feats on this recreated narrow gauge line. Not only does it cross a road on a tramway it crosses Network Rail on the level. It was a very dull day.
