A community hydro-electric project associated with Lancaster Cohousing (see SD5164 : River Lune at Halton & LinkExternal link ). Looking upstream.
The turbine house contains 2 x 100kW turbines with an estimated annual output of 1000MWh.
An additional fish-ladder was built alongside.
The project was formally opened in Seprtember 2015, just in time for the floods from Storm Desmond in December.
