Ice For Your Drink?
Ice For Your Drink?
TQ5781 : The Long Pond in Belhus Woods Country Park is a serpentine lake created by Lancelot "Capability" Brown. It was used as the source for ice for Belhus Park's icehouse see see TQ5781 : Icehouse Belhus Park . It rather shows how much conditions have changed since the "little ice age", in the coldest snap in years the pond is only covered in a film of slush rather than hard ice suitable for a G&T.
