Pit, retracting bridge, Littlehampton
A three span bridge, the centre and near spans roll back as one, on a track, the near span into this pit, to give an opening at the bridge centre. This foot and cycle bridge replaced a swing bridge that was a road bridge until a new fixed bridge further upstream opened.
