Sudden snowfall in Leeds
Sudden snowfall in Leeds
Unseasonably heavy snow hit much of Britain in late February and early March 2018. This snowfall seems to have taken weather forecasters and council gritters by surprise - the forecast of sleet showers turned out to be 3 inches of snow falling during the morning rush hour, causing traffic chaos throughout the area. The inner ring road seen here had been gritted, but far fewer cars than normal had made it into the city centre, while more people than usual were walking to work.
