Footdee from Torry
Footdee, usually pronounced 'Fittie', is an old village at the very end of the River Dee and the harbour. On the right is the NJ9505 : Marine Operations Centre, that is, the harbour control tower, built in 2006. On the left is the Round House, the predecessor of the present control tower, with an octagonal base built probably in 1797-1798, and upper stages added in 1947 and 1966. In the background is the city centre, rising towards the western suburbs.
