Footpath in Burlish Top Nature Reserve, Stourport-on-Severn
This is one of a dense network of footpaths and tracks which survive in the nature reserve. They date from the period in the Second World War when a US Army camp was based here (1943-45). Probably many of them were originally roads but today the condition of them varies enormously. This one is in fairly good condition but some have disappeared under grass. When the camp was here there were dozens of huts not only where the nature reserve now is, but also in areas which are now housing estates on the fringe of the town.
