The source of the River Rea
The River Rea is Birmingham's river flowing from its source here on Windmill Hill, part of the larger Waseley Hill. It's not a large river, flowing just 15 miles to the north-east through Birmingham to near Spaghetti Junction where it enters the River Tame, which in turn is a tributary of the River Trent. I never knew prior to discovering the River Rea's source that a small part of north Worcestershire is part of the catchment area of the River Trent and therefore water emerging from this spring or rain falling on this hillside drains into the North Sea, via the Humber estuary.
