Primulas by the River Skerne
Although much of Darlington is an unrelentingly depressing urban landscape, there are islands of green which mean you can occupy an hour or two whilst your car is being serviced finding your way to a pleasant walk. April sees this meadow by the River Skerne carpeted in primroses, only marred by the need to be careful where you tread - it's a good area for dog exercise, too. The variety of leaves shows there are more flowers to come later in the season - lots of Cranesbills in there, for example.
