Washed-up timber, Gullane Point
Wooden planks have been washed up along a wide stretch of the east coast after the cargo ship 'Frisian Lady' lost 200 timber bundles during severe weather on 2nd March, in the spell of easterly winds. The public have been advised not to collect the wood which is scattered around haphazardly in potentially awkward places; it is of little use in construction after its immersion in seawater. Removal of wreck material must be reported to the Receiver of Wreck - see LinkExternal link.
