NM6029 : The start of the Coladoir River

taken 5 years ago, 5 km from Lochbuie, Argyll And Bute, Great Britain

The start of the Coladoir River
The start of the Coladoir River
At this point it may not have gathered enough water to be the Coladoir River and the master stream, higher up, is the Allt a'Choire Chalachaich. But hereabouts several small tributaries combine and if not here, then the name must apply very soon downstream. The real subject of this photo was to be the big boulder with a tree growing out of it beyond the bend in the stream. In low evening light, the boulder stands out against a shadowed background, but we were never here at the right time in a vehicle we could park on the narrow road - maybe I'll get it on our next visit in 2018... The tiny figure with dog to the left is my daughter who was trying to salvage a photo opportunity from the sunny side of the rock !
