Dick's Pond
The subject is as in NS3777 : Dick's Pond, but is seen here from further back; see that link for further information. As noted there, it was a dam, which was not present when the first-edition OS map was surveyed (in 1860), but which was shown on OS maps from 1897 onwards.
The boulder in the foreground is at the southern end of the embankment of the dam; the embankment extends to its left (to the NNE). The boulder itself has a prominent band of quartz running through it; it also has a deep, smooth groove in the top, with rust colouration, as though worn by the scraping of a metal gate: NS3777 : Boulder beside Dick's Pond.
