Rock outcrop in Tob Bhalasaigh
Although sheltered and all but landlocked, Tob Bhalasaigh is tidal, and this rock barely shows at the top of the tide. We'd entered the loch under the bridge at Bhalasaigh towards the end of the rising tide and were paddling north just to occupy some time until the ebb tide gained some speed where it is confined by narrows under the bridge. This reef was just a bit short of our turn-round point and was notable only for the bits of ironwork which presumably provide sheltered mooring, though for what I can't guess - only the smallest of boats can enter the loch from the open sea as the bridge is both low and pretty narrow - easily big enough for sea kayaks, but not much else !
