RAF Crail / RNAS Crail (Former Military Airfield, Crail)
Crail opened in July 1918 and had various uses in a brief life until it closed in 1919. It reopened on 1st October 1940 initially for use as a Torpedo Bomber Reconnaissance base. The majority of flying units left the airfield around the end of the war, and is one of the best preserved Second World War airfields in Britain. After the war it had a variety of uses until it finally closed in 1961.
Many of the abandoned and disused buildings are Category A, B or C listed buildings.
