Allt a' Bhealaich Mhoir passes through Garbat Forest
Flowing alongside the footpath up and down Ben Wyvis in its lower reaches (below 400m), the Allt a' Bhealaich Mhoir enters the economic forestry area of Garbat Forest on its way to join the Black Water in Strath Garbat. The steeper slopes along the stream are unsuited to commercial harvesting so, in contrast to the monoculture Sitka Spruce above, there are native deciduous species growing, with the Rowans, in particular, full of ripe berries and making a show.
