Southport Chapel Street station

The principal railway station in Southport, built in 1851 as a terminus; since the 1950s when Lord Street station closed, it has been the terminus for all services to the town. There are presently six platforms of the original eleven, of which the first three are used by electric services to/from Liverpool and the remainder by diesel services to/from for trains from Manchester (and formerly also from Preston and points north), plus one siding within the train shed beyond platform 1.
