TF1134 : Corrugated Iron Fence

taken 6 years ago, near to Billingborough, Lincolnshire, England

Corrugated Iron Fence
Corrugated Iron Fence
A Black corrugated iron fence.

In 1952 or 1953 my Mother used to walk me past such a fence, a hundred and twenty miles hence. She told me then that one was tar-blacked "as part of the blackout, during the war, to stop the moon shining on it". What truth there is in such an idea, and whether it would have applied here in Lincolnshire I do not know.
