Caerlaverock Castle

This castle dates from the late 13th century, following abandonment of the first castle, which had been built about 200m south, on marshland. This castle was abandoned in 1640, following a damaging siege by Covenanters.
The ruined SE tower is nearest the camera, with the south range and Murdoch's Tower beyond.
