Looking toward the Bar, the barriers in place, already used this morning for the Ladies race and in just over an hour the men will pass through here. This part of Beverley is known as the Georgian Quarter, with a fine Georgian terrace to the left. The shape of the Bar gateway is of interest, this used to be a main entry point into the town and the East Yorkshire double decker buses were built with a, Beverley Bar Roof Profile, a pointy bit in the middle to fit through the gateway, in 1968 a new road was built at Sow Hill and the unique buses were no more
