Bankside Pier
Bankside Pier
Several of TfL's river service boats stop here. Located on the south bank of the Thames, the adjacent Millennium Bridge (seen on the left, LinkExternal link ) gives easy pedestrian access to the City on the north bank, although many boats stop at Blackfriars Pier just upstream on the north side as well. Behind the office buildings on the river front emerges the roof LinkExternal link , dome LinkExternal link and westwork of St Paul's cathedral. The tall building to its left is BT's Faraday Building, opened in 1902 as the UK's first telephone exchange.
