NZ0713 : St. Mary's Rokeby from the west

taken 7 years ago, near to Brignall, County Durham, England

St. Mary's Rokeby from the west
St. Mary's Rokeby from the west
The church is not oriented so this is liturgically the north side. The contrast between the work of 1778 and the chancel (left) of 1877 is apparent. The church was built on a mound, a common pattern for classical buildings of the period. LinkExternal link The original church for Rokeby was about a kilometre to the north-east.
