Murdieston trig point
Parts of Gourock (left) and Greenock (right) are in the background, on the near shore of the Firth of Clyde. The Rosneath Peninsula is directly behind the top of the trig point; it resembles an island from here, but only because it is seen end-on.
Murdieston trig point
It has flush bracket number S4824, 3rd order, height 234.116m above Newlyn Datum (info from OS archives). It stands 30 metres NNW of a mid-20th-century ruin whose precise date and function are uncertain; see Link for that ruin.
