Machrie Moor Stone Circle 2
Machrie Moor Stone Circle 2
Machrie Moor 2 with its three sandstone slabs, the tallest of which is over 16 feet in height, is undoubtedly the highlight of a visit to the Machrie Moor Stone Circles. At first sight this doesn't appear to be a stone circle but stumps of others can be seen so there may originally have been seven or eight tall sandstone slabs. It is thought that the circle dates back to 1600 - 1800BC.
Goatfell is prominent in the background.
