This Grade 2 listed former 18th century house has since been converted into offices. It is situated back from and at right angles to Mountergate in what used to be known as Spring Gardens and adjacent to the former EA Doe and Sons shoe factory > LinkExternal link and has 3 storeys and 5 bays of windows with a central door and a hipped roof. In the 1890s the house was the family home of John Hotblack who had meanwhile also taken over EA Doe's factory.
