Remains of St Martin's Church Wharram Percy
This church, built on the site of a wooden church from the C10, has been excavated and they have found that it was built in stone in the late C10-C11 and has had 12 building phases up to the 19th century. The last regular church service was held in 1949 and in 1954 the church fittings were removed. A winter storm caused the collapse of the west wall of the tower late in 1959 and in the early 1970s the roof of the nave was finally removed and the vestry demolished
