Church of St. Britius, Station Road, Brize Norton, Oxon
This Norman church is the Parish Church of Brize Norton. It dates from the late 12th century, was enlarged in the 13th when a north aisle and the west tower were added. Later 14th century additions and then in 1868 it underwent, like many others, a restoration. This was by G.E. Street who undertook a considerable number of others in the Victorian period. The building is Grade II* listed. It is the only church in England dedicated to St. Britius, who was canonised in 443 AD.
The eastern end of the church is in the adjoining OS square of SP3007, but as the majority of the church is in SP2907 it seems appropriate to put this photograph here.
