The modern building to the right, above the traditional beach huts, is The Pavilion. It was built on the site of an derelict wooden Edwardian pavilion that served as accommodation for staff at the nearby Haven Hotel NT9166 : Beach Huts on Coldingham Sands. It was on sale for 1.25 million in 2015, despite attracting bitter complaints from local residents who considered it out of keeping with the traditional architecture.

"Planning officials reported to Berwickshire Area Committee that: 'The simple and understated modern design would give the development subtle and positive appearance. It would recede in the public view whilst not disappearing. It is not necessary to mimic the characteristics of the previous pavilion, or to attempt to copy local Edwardian traits, which in themselves present a sometimes eclectic and confused view of the upper seaward slope.'"
