Norwich Cathedral falcon observation point
Norwich Cathedral falcon observation point
The observation point is manned by expert volunteers from the Hawk and Owl Trust, and available to visitors between the hours 10.00am to 4.00pm during April - June (weather permitting). The pair of peregrine falcons first appeared at the Cathedral in 2009, when a male peregrine took up residence on the 250 foot spire. A female falcon soon followed. After this, the Cathedral began work with the Hawk and Owl Trust, setting up a nesting platform > LinkExternal link along with two webcams. An observation point within The Close followed, allowing visitors a close-up view of the nest. The birds have since successfully fledged chicks every summer since 2012 although not every one did survive. For more information go to: LinkExternal link
