Gorse fire on the Braid Hills :: NN0908

Returning to Edinburgh at about 5.30pm from the west, a pall of smoke was seen over Edinburgh. It turned out to be a Gorse fire on the Braid Hills about 12km away, near my home. When I arrived and investigated a fire engine and police were in attendance, but the fire was in a fairly inaccessible place and was flaring up in several places above the houses on Bramdean Rise. I do not know what intervention there was, but the next morning another fire engine was in attendance, although there seemed to be no indication that the fire was still burning.
