NC2621 : Traligill River gorge

taken 9 months ago, near to Inchnadamph, Highland, Great Britain

Traligill River gorge
Traligill River gorge
Water flows overground here on limestone, there being a resurgence a little way upstream. The smooth pale grey slopes on the left meet with a low cliff of darker limestone on the right. This is along the line of the Traligill thrust where the dark grey limestones of the Ghrudaidh formation have been thrust over the lighter Eilean Dubh limestones to the left.
