Assynt old church
Assynt old church
The actual church building is not that old, being a rather curious rebuild of 1900 making it look more like a village hall than a church. This was the site of the original Assynt parish church and there must have been a building here in medieval times, the present church being a rebuild of a 1743 church, whilst the nearer structure is the MacLeod vault, which might be part of the original church.
