View of a MIG-15 (3) Fleet Air Arm Museum, Yeovilton
This is a starboard side view of the nose of the famous Russian fighter aircraft.
The MIG-15 was one of the iconic aircraft of the Korean War, the three-year conflict that lasted officially from 25 June 1950 until an armistice was signed on 27 July 1953. The MIG-15 was a Russian fighter aircraft successfully deployed by the Russian air force acting in support of the North Koreans against South Korea and its allies, the United Kingdom and the United States. Ironically, the success of the MIGs was due in no small part to the actions of the Labour government of the day handing over technical information enabling the Russians to build what were effectively copies of Rolls-Royce jet engines.
