A mixture of late 16th Century, late 17th century and 19th Century, Boscobel House became famous for a few days in 1651 when it hid King Charles II, who was fleeing from defeat at the Battle of Worcester. For a time, he hid in a nearby Oak, which gave its name to countless English pubs.

The house is now in the care of English Heritage and additional information may be found: LinkExternal link All queries should be addressed through this web site.

This view shows the late 17th Century lodge, which has been returned to its circa 1900 condition.
