Cairn Circle, Askham Fell
The cairn circle on Askham Fell [or Moor Divock if you prefer] is referred to as a 'ring cairn' of early to middle Bronze age and consists of a turf covered mound of stones with ten large boulders up to 0.9m high grouped in a circle of 6m diameter. In a previous excavation an adult cremation was discovered along with pottery including a food vessel. This view is south west towards distant Loadpot Hill.
