NY5123 : A curious feature in Lowther Park

taken 7 months ago, near to Askham, Cumbria, Great Britain

A curious feature in Lowther Park
A curious feature in Lowther Park
This feature is right on a grid line, but the photo was taken from within NY5123.
It appears that this was constructed as an animal [presumably cattle] drinking area as there is a dried up hole in the wall from which a spring presumably issued into a trough below. An unusual and expensive way to water cattle.
