SK1846 : Town Hall Yard, Ashbourne, Derbys

taken 4 years ago, near to Ashbourne, Derbyshire, Great Britain

Town Hall Yard, Ashbourne, Derbys.
Town Hall Yard, Ashbourne, Derbys.
The Tourist Office in Town Hall Yard with Market Square ahead. This building previously housed a 'tub-thumpers' workshop belonging to Wibberleys, the barrel makers. It seems that the manufacture of barrels, butter churns and wooden utensils was one of the trades conducted in the Market Place during the C19th.
