Reverse-on Roll-off car ferry at Inverie
Actually, there isn't enough room for the Landrover to reverse right on to the boat - he is just going far enough to hook up the bowser of diesel that has come across on the ferry, then he will drive 50m or so up the ramp and become Knoydart's filling station for half an hour or so, pausing only to do the reversing thing again with the empty tank from the previous run. There aren't many vehicles in Knoydart (there isn't much of a road system in Knoydart...) and it is to be surmised that they all run on diesel, since this system can only bring one tank of fuel at a time. There's no sophisticated payment system or CCTV either - when the filling station knows exactly who everyone is, and there is nowhere to drive away to, everything can run nicely on trust.
