Rocks on the summit of North Berwick Law
Rocks on the summit of North Berwick Law
North Berwick Law is a volcanic plug of hard phonolitic trachyte rock that rises to 613 ft (187 m) above sea level. The summit has remnants of an Iron Age hill fort, and the ruins of later military buildings that were once used by lookouts in both the Napoleonic Wars, and in World War II. There is also a fibreglass replica whale bone on the summit.
Bass Rock is 3 miles away in the Firth of Forth.
