Artwork on a Selkirk flood protection scheme wall
Artist Svetlana Kondakova was commissioned by Scottish Borders Council to produce a mosaic called A Selkirk Legacy portraying participants of the local Common Riding throughout the years. This section of the mosaic shows a Scottish mythological water demon called a Kelpie being tamed by Graham Coulson, a prominent community figure. This acts as a metaphor for the flood protection scheme.
