Faraday Gill
Faraday Gill
Faraday Gill starts high on the western slopes of Nine Standards Rigg, not far from the summit, and cuts down quite close to the path up the hill from the west. There are two paths up this side, one being the bridleway to the south of us, and this one being a more direct route which has developed on the Access land. It was clear that many Coast-to-Coast walkers (they're the ones with big rucksacks looking as though they want an ice cream in Robin Hoods Bay by the day after tomorrow...) are using this path. The Gill was very dry, as was the whole of the moor with lots of good weather early in the season.
