The former Clyde House building has been demolished as part of a wider development of the Customhouse building on Clyde Street. Two hotels will be built here. The Billy Connolly mural at Dixon Street can now be seen from Clyde Street.

Scottish comedian and actor Billy Connolly's 75th birthday was marked by BBC Scotland who commissioned three huge murals to go on public display in his home city of Glasgow. The project was managed by Art Pistol Projects LinkExternal link .

Unveiled in early June just before the announcement of Billy's Knighthood, the 50ft (16m) high art works were created from original works by Scottish artists Jack Vettriano LinkExternal link , John Byrne LinkExternal link and Rachel Maclean LinkExternal link .

The original works can be seen in the People's Palace museum on Glasgow Green.
