'Iris' at Wirksworth
'Iris' at Wirksworth
A single car 'multiple unit' built at Derby in 1956 to work lightly loaded branch lines. It was converted to become a departmental test car in 1967 when it acquired the name 'Iris'. When finally withdrawn by British Rail it was restored to original passenger carrying condition and is now operating on the Ecclesbourne Valley Railway.
