Old Harbour Lighthouse on Admiralty Pier
Old Harbour Lighthouse on Admiralty Pier
Built in 1821, probably to the design of John Rennie who specialised in the design of bridges and harbours, the lighthouse on Holyhead Mail Pier (Admiralty Pier) at Salt Island was used to mark the northern entrance of the old harbour. It is no longer in use. This lighthouse, which is almost 50 feet tall, is a Grade II listed building (LinkExternal link British Listed Buildings).
