NT0077 : Linlithgow Palace from the Peel
taken 6 years ago, near to Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland
A regular event now at various Historic Scotland properties. June 30 2018 was an excellent day for the event at Linlithgow, with full sun and plenty of activities. Demonstrations of archery, victuals, rope making, blacksmithing and wood turning, falconry, heraldry and many other aspects of medieval life were in the Peel and in the ‘living history’ camps by the loch. The jousting, with four knights and their lady, took place in the grassy arena, with spectators watching from the slopes by the palace. The knight and their lady came from the Borders – Les Amis d’Onno Link – and specialise in providing jousting and similar events throughout the country.
