HU3063 : Skerries off the SW coast of Muckle Roe

taken 4 years ago, near to Little-Ayre, Shetland Islands, Great Britain

Skerries off the SW coast of Muckle Roe
Skerries off the SW coast of Muckle Roe
The coast of Muckle Roe has so many stacks, skerries, promontories and other features that it is hardly a surprise that not all have names. The rocks on the left are part of a skerry which lies next to Murbie Stacks, but being so low-lying, the name can hardly apply to these rocks themselves. The view looks down from the clifftop terminating the lower western slopes of Hill of Tongues, and looks over St. Magnus Bay to Papa Stour, the last land before North America in this direction apart from Ve Skerries, almost 20 km out to sea and not visible above the horizon.
