Regarding the Old Milestone by Littleworth Road: thank you for recording the original text, which has long become illegible. There is, however, an error in this record: it should read XIV miles III quarters to Westminster Bridge (not XVI miles). The same stone shows (correctly) a distance of XVI miles to Cornhill, in the City of London (this has been preserved in the modern re-inscription), and it's clearly nonsensical to state that it is further from Esher to Westminster Bridge than it is to Cornhill.

Further, there are other milestones in the Esher area, of similar age to this one, that show a difference of one and one quarter miles between the Westminster Bridge and Cornhill distances. So clearly, XIV miles and III quarters would have been the original text on this stone.

It would be worth correcting this information on the page with the image, I suggest.
