Gatwick Stream in Grattons Park LNR
Gatwick Stream in Grattons Park LNR
An artificial channel dug to look natural, part of the Upper Mole Flood Alleviation Scheme. The whole field is intended to flood during extreme flows. See LinkExternal link for details. The channel appears to be wider than schemed in this statement, even though a long period with no rain was being experienced. The planned meanders and the mapped meanders are rather different and both deviate somewhat from the meanders seen on aerial photographs.
